#MID MARCH21st March 2014

It's the mid month of March, the weeks have passed by as though yesterday was just the start of March, just in a blink of an eye. Time truly flies with everything walking by you without you noticing, take some time to sit, relax and reflect on the days you've spent. You only live once and every moment can only happen once in that special way. EMBRACE YOUR HOLIDAYS BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS AGAIN HAHA!
\
Hope everyone is enjoying your well deserved holidays, whether working, shopping, travelling, slacking under void decks or just stoning in bed. What are holidays without friends to spend them with?

Friends are family that you choose to be with. Friends are the people who stay by your side whether you are going through bad times or good times. They help you to overcome the problems that you are facing and share the happiness with you. In MSC studio, we made friends that we will keep for life and these are people who will always be by our side.

Why do we say so?

MSC Studio allows us to be together and to work with each other. With work comes conflicts, and we are responsible for the actions we make so each of us have to resolve the conflicts that occur during our teaching enterprise project. This allows us to nurture and grow with a wider mindset while simultaneously preparing us for the working world.

Do drop by MSC Studio, with vast variety of merchandises from slippers, gadgets to face masks and all kinds of stuff that might intrigue you. You can expect a hearty warm welcome from our staff the moment you step into the store as well as a friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff to assist your experience in the store!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKENDS GUYS!

NYNE Product Launch

on Wednesday, March 12, 2014

On Friday, 7th March 2014, seven students, accompanied by two lecturers, went to NYNE product launch at the Heeren. NYNE was first unveiled in Las Vegas in January 2014, and has finally made its first appearance in Singapore and Asia.

NYNE is a lifestyle inspired audio brand. The name is NYNE instead of NINE is because it sounds cool. Why the number nine? Nine is a special number. (E.g. 9*3=27, 2+7=9… 9*4=36, 3+6=9) NYNE is part of California-based BOSS International Group (BIG), a leader in mobile and audio products for more than 25 years. The corporate headquarters is located in Oxnard, California. Their products are sold worldwide through a network of distributers, retailers and web-based merchants.

When we first reach the location, we were greeted by the friendly and heart-warming receptionist. We registered our names to their list, and were given a lucky draw slip. A folder filled with cover letter and brochures of the product, supplemented by a keychain, thumb drive and a pen was given as door gifts.

When we entered the room, we can see the products being spread out in every corner of the room. It was also placed on the bicycles to show the functions and how it will look like when use.

While waiting for the product launch to officially begin, invited guests were served with refreshments, some appetizers and dessert, such as Chocolate Mousse and Meatballs.

The ball started to roll by the Sales Director, all the way from the United States. The four new products were promoted one by one, and the functions were all said clearly.

To end off their launch, they informed about their upcoming product, NYNE Aqua, which will be launched in May 2014. They have also given away NYNE Mini, NYNE TT and NYNE Cruiser to 3 lucky winners and a 50% discount to all media and invited partners. Those who were interested with their products can approach their sales team on the floor to make arrangements.

All in all, the product launch went smoothly, and it was a great experience. Experiencing through the real world has taught us beyond classroom learning and had left a great impact to our understanding.

Osaka International University Visit to NYP

On Tuesday, 10 March 2014, I hosted and planned a 2-hour program flow on the actual day for a group of 9 Osaka students that are visiting NYP. The objective of this program in MSC is to give the students a better knowledge on how we operate in MSC (retail industry).

Along with the assistance of 3 Studio students, the Japanese students toured around MSC to be familiarized with the placement of the various products in the different zones. Thereafter, games were organized for them to have fun while simultaneously gaining a deeper insight into our products like its prices and promotions.

After the tour around MSC and a brief introduction by our 3 MSC students, the Japanese students were split into 3 groups of 3 and played a competitive game between each other. They were asked various questions like where they could find the most expensive and least expensive products. For a brief moment, they had some difficulty in finding the products but got used to the store and placement of products as more questions were posed to them.

During the games session, the Japanese students were asked to compete and do a role play which required them to sell a product to a customer that was acted out by an MSC staff. Even though they struggled with the language barrier, they managed to use body language to bring out the best in the products that they were promoting.

Other questions during the game include finding things that represent or relate to an object, color or flavour.

After the intense questionnaire and movement around the store to be the fastest group to win the game, there was a 15 minutes free and easy period for them to rest or the opportunity to shop around. Being more aware of the products in the store around them, quite a few Japanese students purchased some merchandise from our store.

This was the last section of the program and also the most exciting one where there was commotion and laughter observed by all the groups. In this sessions, the Japanese students were requested to pick a model from the group while the other 2 students will help to dress up their model. The best dressed model which gathered the loudest applause went to Iqura (most right-hand picture). He was also energetic and confident during his runway.

In conclusion, I have learnt that it is important to improvise a program flow swiftly in case of any obstacles or increasing waiting time. Also, communicate between my fellow Studio mates is key, for better teamwork and a smoother flow in all activities. Overall, I enjoyed myself thoroughly and am thankful for this opportunity.
